This is the Land of Medicine Buddha up in the mountains a few minutes from where I live. It's the sweetest little drive through the forest in a small neighborhood, with prayer flags hanging across the street on the way up. I took Ray there on Saturday to check it out, he had never been there before. I can't believe I forgot to get a photo of the giant prayer wheel that is outside...they actually have two, but one is huge. So we added our prayer to the good of all sentient beings, as they are collecting a specific prayer of peace and are in the six digit numbers of prayers given so far. The retreat is a center for learning. The Dahli Lama has been here. You can come take class's and hear lectures, it's a very serene setting as you can imagine. This room in particular is so breath taking when you first walk in and the wall of Buddha's hit's your senses. The big sand mandala is encased in glass right now and is truly spectacular to see in person. All the intricate, tiny detail with the colored sand....it's really something to behold.
